Altar Servers

Altar Servers assist the presider at weekly and special Eucharistic Celebrations. Altar Servers must be practicing Catholics that have received First Communion. Requirements include serving at assigned Masses and attend scheduled meetings.

Art and Environment Ministry

The Art and Environment ministry is responsible for the procurement, design, and care of the decorations, flowers, altar cloths, liturgical furnishings, and other items. The decoration of the sanctuary, the adoration chapel, parish hall and the church nave for the different seasons, feasts and liturgies plays an integral part of this ministry. Volunteers are needed for the big projects, such as decorating for Easter and Christmas, as well as with smaller opportunities throughout the year.

St Joseph Altar & Linen Society

The Altar Society assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the Altar, Sanctuary and Sacristy including the care of the vestments, Altar linens, and care of the plants and flowers.

Hospitality Ministry

Members of this ministry greet all parishioners as they enter and exit the doors at each Mass with a smile and huge welcome.  They also assist in the collection of parishioners monetary donations, passing out bulletins, and assisting with questions and directions.

Lectors

The Minister of the Word is the storyteller of the community.  He/She has the responsibility to relate the story of salvation in a meaningful way, drawing the listener into the scriptures.  The lector is charged with carefully preparing to proclaim the Word of the Lord to the Community.  Lectors must be practicing Catholics that have received First Communion and Confirmation.  Requirements include serving at assigned Masses attending official liturgical formation, and attend periodically scheduled meetings

Liturgical Choirs & Cantors

Music ministers lead the faithful in sung prayer during the liturgy.  Done well, songs of praise and thanksgiving bring the assembly closer to the Lord.  The Music Ministry consists of: Cantors/Leaders of Song, Choirs, and Instrumentalists.  Music Ministers must be practicing Catholics, have a good singing voice and/or play a musical instrument, have some knowledge of the Mass, and a desire to serve God's people in leading them in prayerful music.

Sacristan Ministry

The Sacristan duties include preparations for mass; the various sacramental articles, vessels for communion, candles, as well as lighting, sound, and temperature controls before and after Mass.  The Sacristan may also be called to assist at baptisms, weddings, and funerals.  Sacristans help "behind the scenes" to coordinate people and necessary supplies.

Pastoral Care Commission

Prevencion Y Rescate (Spanish Only)

Our Mission is to prevent families from becoming affected by drugs, alcohol, and gangs and to rescue those already affected.  Prevencion y Rescate’s values are piety, action and education.  We believe in helping individuals and families, emotionally and spiritually, through a holistic approach.  We provide counseling services, support groups, family prevention program, and Catholic 12 steps, in combination with religious retreat experiences, weekly meetings, and a yearly family Catholic Congress.

Pro-Life Ministry

Pro Life Catholic Ministries addresses our Church's call for "A vigorous affirmation of the Value of Human Life" especially in the areas of Abortion, Chastity, Stem Cell Research & Human Cloning, Capital Punishment, Physician Assisted Suicide and Natural Family Planning.  We promote compassionate and practical assistance for those in need, provide formation on the Gospel of Life, and strives to inspire our Catholic Community to participate in spiritual, care giving, educational, and legislative efforts.

Knights of Columbus Council #3215

This is the local council of the national organization of Catholic men devoted to charitable services to the church and greater community. There is an application process that is required of any adult Catholic man wanting to be part of this fraternal organization.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. They donate to charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness” through their motto “Unity and Charity.”

Ministerio Guadalupano

This group promotes a deeper understanding of our faith and cultural expressions as they apply to the liturgical and fervent devotion to the Virgin, Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The celebration of the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12th is our major goal as we work in collaboration with the faith community of OLPH throughout the year to make this day a worthy celebration to our Blessed Mother.

Fatima Ministry

The mission of this ministry is to promote the praying of the Rosary, the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  We invite families to welcome the statue of Our Lady of Fatima into their home for a week, to pray the Holy Rosary, and allow Her accompany you in your daily lives.  The group also meets in Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.

Holy Rosary Ministry

This ministry looks to share a greater love and awareness for Our Blessed Mother thorough the communal recitation of the Holy Rosary.  We strive to share the love of our Lord and the Blessed Mother with each other and with those whom we come in contact.

Landscape Committee

This committee offers a great opportunity to share your time, talent and resources by enhancing the image of our parish, by maintaining the grounds and making them a more welcoming environment.  We are a group of gardeners and volunteers eager to respond to God’s call to maintain our Parish's gardens.  The Mission of the Landscape Committee is to research, recommend, and implement ways to beautify Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and provide areas for recreation, meditation and prayer, emphasizing environment conservation to be good stewards of the earth that God gave us.

Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (Spanish only)

The spiritual exercises, written by St. Ignatius of Loyola, help us discover the greatness of God in the face of worldly temptations.  Through a period of study and prayerful meditation, the spiritual exercises help us be set free of our resistance to God—whether it be fear, selfishness, envy, resentment, or some other emotion.
